A Guide to Programs and Services for Seniors in Ontario

How to Use this Guide

This guide provides a general introduction to programs and services for seniors, plus telephone, e-mail and Internet sources where you can learn more about specific programs or services. If you are unfamiliar with, or have difficulty using these technologies, please review the tips.

The guide is organized into 17 chapters, and three appendices. For information about a specific program, check the table of contents at the front of the booklet for the general area, and then consult the detailed chapter contents at the front of that chapter. For some of the most common questions asked, see the Frequently Asked Questions. Finally, to find a telephone number, fax, mailing or Website address for a program or service described in this guide, consult the handy directory. The contact information includes the name of the organization, address, telephone number and where available, a toll-free number, a teletypewriter (TTY) number, an email address and a Website.

Please note: programs and service providers can vary greatly from one community to another. Wherever possible, this guide identifies a central information source that can direct you to the appropriate organization or regional office to contact in your area.
