SUDBURY PRODUCES NEW ANIMATED TV SERIESMAY 2, 2008 — Sudbury’s burgeoning animation industry has landed another production assignment. A new television series will mean new jobs in one of the North’s emerging economic sectors.
The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) is investing $1,650,000 in the production of a new March Entertainment series titled “Pest Control 3000”. [Read the full news release]

ONTARIO CHAMPIONS CULTURE INDUSTRIES APRIL 22, 2008 — Ontario championed its growing cultural sector today in the third week of Canadian Radio and Television Commission (CRTC) hearings being held to determine whether changes need to be made to the country’s broadcasting system. Culture Minister Aileen Carroll urged the Commission to stay the course and reaffirm its regulatory commitment to Canadian programming.
Premier McGuinty Announces Royal ontario museum's Community access program
APRIL 21, 2008 — Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty today announced the Royal Ontario Museum’s Community Access Network, or ROM CAN, an innovative new program providing free Museum tickets directly to communities and individuals who may not otherwise visit the Museum. [Read the full news release]
Factory Theatre Receives Grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation
Minister Aileen Carroll was on hand at Factory Theatre to help showcase the recent renovations to their Mainstage Lounge. Minister Carroll announced that the McGuinty government is providing $130,000 through the Ontario Trillium Foundation to Factory Theatre. These funds will go towards the replacement of the theatre’s roof and for new lighting equipment and drapery.
Renewed Museum Subway Station an Inspiring Step Forward for Toronto APRIL 8, 2008, TORONTO — "Arts on Track is taking arts and culture to a new level," said Minister of Culture Aileen Carroll. "We are transforming Museum Station into a magnificent public space and highlighting two of Ontario's vibrant cultural attractions. By expanding into the subway, the ROM and the Gardiner will entice many new visitors through their doors."
The opening of the redesigned Museum Subway Station reflects the Toronto Community Foundation's commitment to connecting philanthropy to community needs. The Province of Ontario, partnering with the Toronto Community Foundation and the Toronto Transit Commission, contributed $2 million for Arts on Track.
