Federal-Provincial-Territorial Meeting of Ministers responsible for Culture and Heritage

Ministers Commit to Fostering Arts and Heritage in Changing Times

ST. JOHN’S, Newfoundland and Labrador, August 12, 2010 – Canada’s federal, provincial and territorial (FPT) Ministers responsible for Culture and Heritage met today to discuss topics relating to the theme of this year’s meeting  – Fostering Arts and Heritage in Changing Times. All Ministers agreed on the importance of working together to advance common goals and reaffirmed their support for the FPT Culture/Heritage and Tourism Initiative (FPTTI). McGuinty Government Launches Community Capital Fund

July 8, 2010 — Ontario is launching a new program to support infrastructure projects for non-profit organizations that serve diverse cultural communities.

The new Community Capital Fund will support infrastructure projects that help Ontario’s non-profit organizations deliver important public services to diverse cultural communities. Ontario’s Entertainment and Creative Cluster:
A Framework for Growth

Minister Chan, Minister of Tourism and Culture, today announced the release of Ontario’s Entertainment and Creative Cluster: A Framework for Growth.  This document lays out the vision of the ministry for the continued growth and leadership of Ontario’s content-producing industries (the film, television, publishing, music and interactive digital media sectors).  The report was released on June 30th, 2010 at Digital Dialogue, a conference hosted by the Ontario Media Development Corporation, for leaders in the media industries.
