Government awards, prizes and scholarships
The Ontario government, through the Ontario Arts Council, offers awards, prizes and scholarships to honour individual artists and help them thrive.
Trillium Book Award
The Trillium Book Award is the province’s leading award for poetry ($10,000) and literature ($20,000). Past Trillium winners include Margaret Atwood, Michael Ondaatje, Timothy Findley and Anne Michaels.
Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Arts
The $120,000 Premier’s Award for Excellence in the Arts honours both established and up-and-coming professional artists or organizations whose creative vision and originality have made a major contribution to their field.
